1.Provide AWESOME customer service
Remember that your staff and your attitude really are the greatest marketing tools for your business. Offering your customers with quality customer service is FREE. Awesome customer service can really extend the amount of people that know about your business and this can lead to a larger number of people buying from your business. Keep up the great work!
2.Network, Network, Network!
Make it your aim to meet new people every week (in a business setting). Your target goal (of new people) should match the size of your business. The purpose of this exercise is to be connecting with potential buyers and suppliers. Networking is NOT the same as selling, it is about connecting with other people in the wider community. It’s about spotting opportunities, so you want to spend time asking questions… about the person and their business. Try to see whether they have any problems that you can help with, even if it is just a referral.
3.Reduce the distractions (Single focus not multi-tasking)
Studies have shown that changing between tasks can waste up to 45 minutes before resuming the original task at an effective rate. Reduce the workplace distractions by using a technique called ‘batching’, bringing tasks of the same nature together can greatly improve your chances of effective task completion.
i.e. Check your email at only two times in a day…once at the start then again about 30-60 minutes before the end of business hours. You can try three times per day, depending on the nature of your business. This will ensure that you can action every email before the day is out. It is important to action them not ‘save to answer later’ OR flag them for your immediate attention the next day/Add them to your calendar. Another great tip is to complete at least one item on your to-do list, first thing in the morning, BEFORE opening your emails. This will improve your effectiveness and offer you a greater sense of achievement.
