Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram…they have all contributed to what is now being called the “Social Age” in Business Marketing. They (and the hundreds of other Social Media sites) have also contributed to Social Media ADDITION & Social Media OVERWHELM. So, how do you successfully promote your business on social media without the addiction and overwhelm? Well, check out this video by Marie Forleo. Marie is serious, one of my FAVE business marketing gurus and she wraps this topic up just nicely!

Use social media for your business but worried it’ll take over your life if you join every social network out there? In this video you’ll learn 4 simple steps you can start using right away to make sure you use social media the right way to eliminate overwhelm.
1. Realize You Don’t HAVE to Do It. While there are a lot of benefits to using social media, it’s not right for everyone. If there’s a social network you don’t like, just don’t use it. Here are 10 very successful small businesses that don’t use social media:http://mashable.com/2013/01/01/social…
2. Less is more (menos es mas). Even though many people suggest using social media on multiple platforms, it’s actually better to choose one or two networks to have a presence on and ignore the rest. It’s better to go all out on one or two social media platforms than to fail at a many of them.
3. Get Organized & Make A Schedule. Decide how active you want to be on your platforms and make a schedule. There’s no right answer for how often to use social media, but start somewhere and adjust as you go.
4. Remember Every Open Channel Is A Liability. If you decide to use social media, remember to monitor those outlets so your customers aren’t feeling ignored if they reach out. The bottom line is this: when using social media, either do it right and keep an eye on it, or don’t do it at all (which is also fine).
So I hope you have LOVED this video as much as we did! Kind of makes us feel like we are off the hook and don’t have to waste so much energy or time on EVERY social media site. What a relief!
So “SCREW” the social media accounts that you are not paying attention to and focus on those that you like AND that are contributing to building the reputation and PROFIT of your business.
